Live Arrival Guarantee
Every order is covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. If any shrimp, fish or invertebrate arrives dead, we'll do our best to reimburse you for the lost animals. Just photograph them in the unopened bag and start a claim within 24 hours of delivery.
In the rare of case of Dead On Arrival (DOA) please:
1. Take clear photos of the invertebrate(s) and/or fish in the unopened bag.
2. Initiate a claim through our online portal within 24 hours of the first delivery attempt or pick-up. The portal can be found here: INITIATE A CLAIM
3. A Refund or Gift Card will be issued for the cost of lost invertebrate(s) or fish only. If a replacement is requested instead of a refund, we will invoice you the shipping cost for the replacement.
4. For orders with Snail(s): It is totally normal for snails not to move for up to 5 days from arrival. Leave them in a corner of your tank for 5 days. If they have not moved within the 5 day timeframe or start to smell, email us with a photo of the snail(s) and a Refund or Gift Card will be issued for the cost of lost invertebrate(s) only. If a replacement is requested instead of a refund, we will invoice you the shipping cost for the replacement.
5. Claims due to packages being left outside for extended periods of time in extreme temperatures will be void.
6.The shipment must be sent to the correct delivery address, and not forwarded to another address unless the package is delivered on the same day. Forwarding of packages will usually result in an extra day or more in transit and will void our Live Arrival Guarantee. If UPS or USPS forwards your shipment in error, we do cover that type of mistake.
7. Packages that are being held at the post office or a UPS location has to be picked up by the customer or a redelivery has be rescheduled within 1 day from delivery to the post office or UPS location for the Live Arrival Guarantee to be valid. This applies to cases where the customer decides to hold the package and/or cases where USPS or UPS decides to hold the package at their discretion.

As one of the more popular members of the Rainbowfish family, the Neon Dwarf Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia praecox) can be found in many home aquariums. The iridescent blue scales that can be observed once the fish reaches adulthood offer a striking contrast to its bright red fins. These colors will “pop” against a densely planted aquarium. Males will offer the brightest colors, especially during their posturing behavior when competing with other males. The beauty of the females is not to be dismissed, however, as they still display a dazzling silver body.
These fish enjoy being kept in large schools as their most intense color will be displayed, and as mentioned above are a very ideal candidate for the planted aquarium. A spacious aquarium will help ensure that subdominant males are not overly harassed by dominant males. It grows to a maximum size of just under 3 inches, and as such, care should be taken if one is to attempt to keep them with smaller invertebrates such as dwarf shrimp, and the fry will likely end up as prey. It has a relatively small mouth for its body size; however, as such, adult dwarf shrimp should be safe. Larger invertebrates such as Vampire, Amano, and Bamboo shrimp are worth candidates for invertebrate tank mates.
Feeding the Neon Dwarf Rainbowfish isn’t too finicky, as it readily accepts the large majority of dried, prepared foods such as flakes, pellets, and granules. For maximum color output, be sure to supplement its diet with nutrient-rich freeze-dried, frozen, and live foods.
