USA-Bred Cardinal Sulawesi Shrimp
To protect our animals and to ensure they get to our customers healthy, we will only ship orders with Sulawesi Shrimp via UPS Next Day Air.
These beautiful Cardinal Sulawesi Shrimp are bred by us here in the USA. Native to the lakes of Sulawesi, Indonesia, these shrimp are natural rock dwellers and feed on the bio-film and algae growing on rocks. Smaller than their Neocaridina and Caridina counterparts, these shy shrimp have been increasingly popular in the hobby due to their interesting feeding habits, distinctive white legs and beautiful Scarlet red and white spotted patterns. These shy shrimp do better in larger groups, we recommend getting at least a group of 5 or more.
Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp or White-Sock shrimp, were difficult to breed when they were first introduced to the hobby. They required a higher PH (7.5-8.5) and higher water temperatures (78-86F) for them to breed successfully in captivity. However, we have been successful in breeding them at a lower PH of 7.0-7.2
We use an inert sand along with Lava rocks in our tank setup. For our water, we remineralized RO water with Salty Shrimp GH/KH+ to a TDS of about 150 ppm.
