Searching for Green Jade Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) for sale? These beautiful green shrimp are a great choice for any shrimp tank as their distinctive green coloration make them pop on any black substrate.
Do keep in mind that these high-grade Green Jade Shrimp will require a high-lighted (white light) tank and black substrate to showcase their green coloration. It is common for them to appear darker or even black when you first receive them, do not worry as they will soon color up if the tank has a dark colored substrate and appropriately lit. We found that the color of these shrimp are a lot more finicky compared to other Neocaridinas. They will appear dark or even black on white substrate and might even turn darker in color temporarily when they go through changes in water parameters.
The Green Jade Shrimp is a dwarf freshwater shrimp native to Taiwan. Due to their original habitat, these shrimp thrive in planted tanks with a variety of shelter options and hiding spots. Our Aquarium Plant Variety Packs can help you create the ideal environment for your shrimp.
Green Jade Shrimp require very little feeding as long as your tank contains enough algae, biofilm, or decaying plant matter. We recommend feeding every other day with high-quality shrimp food.
Great for planted and community tanks, you can place your peaceful and friendly Green Jade Shrimp with mates like Neon Tetras, Kuhli Loaches, Corydoras, and other dwarf shrimp.
Our Green Jade Shrimp are shipped as young adults at a size of around 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in length.
Green Jade Shrimp Breeder Pack
We created the breeder packs to ensure that hobbyist will have the ideal ratio to start a breeding colony. The Breeder pack will consist of 7 female and 3 male shrimp. For a total of 10 shrimp.
While the 5 packs and 10 packs are random scoops from our tanks and will not guarantee a specific male to female ratio.

I was totally scammed by shrimpy business. They sent me blue cull quality shrimp instead of a green jade breeder pack!
All 10 shrimp arrived healthy, I ordered the breeder pack and got seven females and three males. One even arrived pregnant! They are all doing amazing they look healthy and are super active.

These guys are awesome! They arrive very dark but get more and more color the longer theyre in the tank! I ended up with light and dark greens. Everything ive ordered so far has been awesome and lots of babies and extras. Ill always order from them from now on. Plants too!

These jades, are definitely green overall, and it is worth buying!
I was looking for a strain of neos to put in my newer crypt tank that had finally settled/stopped melting, and was torn between yellows or maybe orange, which would have looked amazing in my green/brown tank, or bite the bullet and go after the highly valued jades (at the time of writing this). Many internet forum posts, and even pictures from follow hobbyists did not give me a lot of confidence in how "green" jades are when sold thru most big shrimp resellers/breeders, as many have shown me pictures of wild type looking shrimp.
My understanding is that jades are still highly unstable, hence you get those "wild type" looking shrimp quite often in orders. I also expected to see the better shrimp to look much more like blue dreams and not green based on many youtube unboxing videos. And lastly, I was also expecting darker shrimp, between black rose and blue in a best case scenario. I really did my homework in terms of what to expect.
Needless to say, after reading other reviews, and a gut feeling, I bit the bullet and ordered some jades from Shrimpy Business... let me tell you, that I was super pleased with what was sent to me! Actual green shrimp! Yep, thats right folks, every single shrimp was definitely in the realm of green. Even the darker ones have a green tinge in certain lighting. They definitely have some blue in their "green" (i.e. green-blue if we want to play the color range game) but this was expected, however these are definitely not blue.
Plus, I already have babies, two drops I believe, and I haven't even had these shrimp a month yet. I was sent berried shrimp! I live in liquid rock water (super hard, higher kH, and high pH with lava rock substrate 🤣 I did do a very very slow drip acclimation, so slow the first baby drop was in the drip bucket 😑🤦♀️), and so far I have only lost 2 shrimp after a molt out of 17 total. Several others have survived molting so far (3.5 weeks in), but if you've ever kept shrimp in drastically different water parameters, you know the hardest part of getting your colony stable is the first couple of drops shrimplets and them surviving to breeding age. I've got a jump start! Unhealthy shrimp surely would have not tolerated the transition better!
I've included pics so you can see how lovely these shrimp are. I wish i could add videos and more pictures! So I created a collage of some close up views. There is one blurry underside pic, but i thought it was worth including so you can see, definitely green!

They came in super dark (almost black). After 2 weeks, I have at least one BRIGHT green one. (See pic.) Will like buy some more!
So fast on the shipping and handling. The color on the Green Jades are beautiful. I had a small clear shrimp in with the greens and I though it was hitchhiker from another batch, but a quick response from shrimpy business ensured me it would color up in a few days. It most certainly has and I am very pleased! Will order from herein the future!

Shrimp came in great just very dark was hoping for a better green color but that's not a huge deal just be aware they are very dark green almost black

All arrived healthy and look to be doing great although most of the shrimp are very very dark and don't appear to be the jade green as pictured.
