Zebra Nerite Snail
About This Species
These Zebra Nerite Snails are not only beautiful, but they are great algae eaters. They eat algae on aquarium walls, plants and substrate. These snails are also peaceful creatures and will not bother other tank inhabitants. We sell our snails at around 1 inch in diameter. These snails are named after the unique Zebra patterns they have on their shells.
Nerite snails will not breed in your tank unlike other snails as brackish water is required for their eggs to hatch. Hence, they will not take over an aquarium unlike other pest snails.
We feed them a combination of our own foods Shrimpy Party, protein party, blanched vegetables (Spinach and Zucchini) and Mulberry leaves.
Recommended Tank Parameters:
Temperature: 68F - 84F
PH: 7.4-8.4
KH: 3-14
I ordered 6 of these guys a while back, it was a great purchase! 2 of them passed away shortly after receiving but it is to be expected shipping live animals across the country. The 4 alive are amazing! They’ve grown quite a bit and keep up with all the algae in the tank. Fantastic purchase.
First shipment of 3 was wonderful they 5 weeks later.
But this shipment of 6 only 2 are alive I believe they died in transport but who's to say. I would like some replacements but their not cheap. That was my monthly money I allowed myself to spend this month.
Overall good company I'll change my stars if they send me more snails. This place is terrific fabulous to deal with 100% recomend.
These little guys are cute and active. They came healthy and ready to be drip acclimated into their new aquarium and immediately began giving the tank a nice clean. They’re still looking great and have settled in well!
I got three Zebra snails and one was dead when I picked them up. It looked like the shell was cracked and it had a very unpleasant smell to it..
So cute! They arrived on time, well packaged, alive and healthy 🥰 so happy with my purchase. Got a pack of 3 🤗
My first zebra nerite for some reason just didn’t do well and died around almost 2 weeks post acclimating them. My daughter was so devastated that “stripes” passed away. I reached out to shrimpy business and they sent me a replacement snail. These snails are beautiful and we are so happy to have “zeebs” as our newest snail in our tank thanks to shrimpy business!
Nerites are awesome! Very easy care requirements, plus they aren’t affected by salt like other snails. My tank is algae infested, so my snail never goes hungry. They do need food so growing algae on some rocks in a jar under a light or in a southern facing windowsill is a great way to grow some if your tank is pristine. An air stone will help the water from going stagnant.
This snail is massive! I ordered several and most came cute and tiny, but this one came cute and giant! Very healthy and has no shell damage or signs of stress at all! Very pleased with all the snail babies i got in my order, within minutes they were all cruising the tank and climbing rocks, plants, and the glass!
Healthy and active
Non stop…
Always roaming…
And always cleaning…
I should have bought more.
Awesome addition to my clean up crew. After drip acclimating for about a half hour I added them to my aquarium. They went straight to work and started scouring surfaces for any biofilm and algae they could find.
I was a little worried about my order coming in late and it was a hot day for Portland. I received 3 different sizes and they are doing well in my tanks.
Thank you Shrimpy Bizz
I love the snails! I love watching them make their way around the tanks. They are so cute
Did not realize how big they were and in the mixed tank with shrimp and angel fish these guys stand out and seem to be an eye catcher with my guests.
I like them very much. All arrived healthy! One had a cracked shell, so I’m watching it, but it is moving around the tank. But I’m pleased with my order!
Super fast shipping. Snails arrived healthy and active. No issues acclimating them to the tanks. They are thriving.
Arrived in a well hydrated container, after a short time acclimating he was put into the tank and got to work! He has been everywhere! very active!
Love seeing the stripes and was a great addition to my tank! Thanks
