Toothpick Fish

I received all 4 of these toothpick fish that I bought, they appeared to be in great shape. The packaging was excellent as always. After they were in the tank, unfortunately 2 of them passed away within 36 hours. I think the shipping was just too much for them, was a bit of a shock for me as they all ate a bunch of baby brine shrimp that first day and appeared to be happy. They are an extremely delicate fish and I do not blame the seller, it’s unfortunately just something that can happen sometimes. I am very excited to buy more of these guys again because I think only 2 isn’t enough for them to feel their best. They eat baby brine, microworms, banana worms, vinegar eels, copepods, seed shrimp, and baby daphnia no problem. I love how unique they look in my shrimp tank.

These guys are awesome. But you better know how to make baby brine shrimp. Not the frozen stuff because they will not eat that. They have to be live baby brine shrimp. They are just like seahorses in this manner. If they don't get that they will die experienced fish keepers only. Please don't buy them because they look awesome or you like them and you don't know what you're doing because you will just end up killing these fish within 2 weeks please don't do that unless you don't care about life. So many people do that and it's sad.

I love love love these cute little fish! I've bought twice and have a dozen now!
They are SMALL with very small mouths so I created a kind of species only tank for them, along with 10 micro crabs and 4 Anchor (or moth) catfish.
I feed them newly hatched brine shrimp, moina, vinegar eals and microworms.
All 3 species don't bother each other and they're in a 3.5 gallon tank. So awesome to watch! This is now my favorite aquarium!

Lost both in 2 days.

Absolutely beautiful fish for a nano tank and when you have shrimplets and fish fry with them they become most active when they get comfortable they will show you just how much of a hunter they are.

Good packing and fast shipping. The delicatefish were all alive and well. One is moving a little slow hopefully after resting in the plants he will be great.

Ordered 16 fish. One DOA, but the other 15 arrived in good shape. These fish are so tiny that they kind of disappeared in a heavily planted tank. They are micro predators, eating only live food. Since they are so small, they hide because they see themselves as prey. It makes it special when you see them. They are still acclimating, so far so good.

They all arrived alive i did order four. One just couldnt seem to recover from the shipping. Which I was okay with considering how small and delicate these guys are. Other three are doing great! However it may be just my toothpick fish because they are heifers, but they will eat newly born baby shrimp and take em out! I had a abundance of baby and adult shrimp before them and now i have not seen a baby shrimp in a couple of months not even juvenile shrimp just adults!!

Fish shipped quickly and arrived healthy. Packaging was well insulated for the cold weather.
