About This Species
To protect our animals and to ensure they get to our customers healthy, we will only ship orders with Nano Fish via UPS Next Day Air.
The Sparkling Gourami, also known as the Pygmy Gourami is a stunning nano fish. They have beautiful small iridescent spots on the side of their body that almost "sparkle" when light is reflected off of them, hence, their name. They are a smaller fish and can grow to a a max size at about 1.5 inch which makes them perfect for planted nano tank.
The Sparkling Gourami is a peaceful and timid fish and are accustom to fairly heavy vegetation, we recommend a planted tank to mimic their natural environment.
Sparkling Gouramis are pretty easy to care as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters. The following are our water parameters we keep them at:
Our Tank Water Parameters
PH: 7.2 to 7.5
GH: 7 to 8
KH: 3 to 4
TDS: 180 to 250
Temp: 72 to 75
We feed them a mix of live baby brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.
My second order from Shrimpy Business! Arrived quickly and packaged well - they surprisingly didn't look stressed out at all from travel. They are super curious, tons of personality, and love their new home!
The fish arrived healthy and quickly. Mine is quite active and less shy than what I’ve heard about them. It gets along well with my ember tetras and even seems to school with them :)
Great seller! Fast delivery all livestock arrived alive and well.
I'm in love with these guys! They have colored up nicely and are doing great!
Arrived healthy and alive. Active. They acclimated well to my tank and all of them look great. Beautiful addition to my tank.
The fish arrived in great shape and are doing well in my tank. I will be ordering again.
Dear Nick and Gwen:
As per usual, everything was packaged beautifully and the fish look great and only one little problem. The bag with the neon Tetris leaked and we lost I lost one of them, but no worries it was only one and I know stuff happens so I’m very happy with everything they look great. so thank you again for all your consideration. Thank you again for all your thank you again for all your consideration.
Nice fish
The fish were well packaged and looked great. Good communications on the orders progress.
Gouramis delivered fast and came super healthy. They are already starting to color up- very pleased with my purchase!
Shrimpy business sells healthy livestock
Sweet fish! Happy and healthy.
All six fish were hardy. Their blue eyes sparkle especially in light.
I ordered 15 Sparkling Gouramis and was/am so pleased with them, they came as little babies! Sadly, I wasn’t prepared for their size so two were sucked up by filter (solved by filter floss tied over input), however, since then the remaining 13 have been happily learning tricks (3 light taps means food and they’ll bolt right out of hiding!!) and they are super smart and recognize me and others. I don’t know when I purchased them but they are at least a few months old now not a single problem with any of them. Each one has their own friend and specific hiding spots too, I love them and am very grateful they were so young, healthy and seemingly well-bred:)
Very beautiful and innocent looking fish BUT they are not shrimp friendly nor betta. For shy and curious fishes they're actually pretty mean. Lost two shrimp due to my ignorance and not doing enough research. Just because a fish is labeled peaceful, doesn't mean they won't attack others.
Lesson learned.
All shrimp and nanofish came in alive and well. I love the Sparkling Gouramis. They seem inquisitive and intelligent. Love to watch them. They may be my fave besides next to my shrimp.
Ordered 2, both came alive and very active. One unfortunately died about a week later, but the other is still going strong over a month in. Interesting sparkly addition to my micro tank!
Great little blue-eyed fish. Friendly and healthy.
I have never had these before. I love them and I ordered more their eyes are a fantastic blue. New favorite little fish.👍👍👍👍🙂🙂
All 5 (plus a bonus 1) of my Sparlking Gourami came in healthy and are actively eating and swimming and you can see their beautiful colors already. Love them!
