Live Arrival Guarantee

Every order is covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee. If any shrimp, fish or invertebrate arrives dead, we'll do our best to reimburse you for the lost animals. Just photograph them in the unopened bag and start a claim within 24 hours of delivery.

In the rare of case of Dead On Arrival (DOA) please:

1. Take clear photos of the invertebrate(s) and/or fish in the unopened bag.

2. Initiate a claim through our online portal within 24 hours of the first delivery attempt or pick-up. The portal can be found here: INITIATE A CLAIM

3. A Refund or Gift Card will be issued for the cost of lost invertebrate(s) or fish only. If a replacement is requested instead of a refund, we will invoice you the shipping cost for the replacement.

4. For orders with Snail(s): It is totally normal for snails not to move for up to 5 days from arrival. Leave them in a corner of your tank for 5 days. If they have not moved within the 5 day timeframe or start to smell, email us with a photo of the snail(s) and a Refund or Gift Card will be issued for the cost of lost invertebrate(s) only. If a replacement is requested instead of a refund, we will invoice you the shipping cost for the replacement.

5. Claims due to packages being left outside for extended periods of time in extreme temperatures will be void.

6.The shipment must be sent to the correct delivery address, and not forwarded to another address unless the package is delivered on the same day. Forwarding of packages will usually result in an extra day or more in transit and will void our Live Arrival Guarantee. If UPS or USPS forwards your shipment in error, we do cover that type of mistake.

7. Packages that are being held at the post office or a UPS location has to be picked up by the customer or a redelivery has be rescheduled within 1 day from delivery to the post office or UPS location for the Live Arrival Guarantee to be valid. Rummynose Tetra (Tank-Bred)

Rummynose Tetra (Tank-Bred)

About This Species

To protect our animals and to ensure they get to our customers healthy, we will only ship orders with Nano Fish via UPS Next Day Air.

The Rummynose Tetras (Hemigrammus rhodostomus) is a staple in the aquarium hobby. With its red nose and metallic sheen, combined with their schooling behavioud they are stunning in any aquarium. These stunning fish are are relatively small and can grow to a a max size at about 1 inch which makes them perfect for a planted nano aquarium.

Like most Tetras, we recommend keeping these guys in groups of 5 or more for them to feel safe in a large school. They will look especially stunning in a planted tank.

These fish are adult shrimp-safe, however, we recommend having sufficient plants or hiding spots for aquariums with both Rummynose Tetras and freshwater shrimp.

Rummynose Tetras are pretty easy to care as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters.  The following are our water parameters we keep them at:

Our Tank Water Parameters

PH: 7.2 to 7.5
GH: 7 to 8
KH: 3 to 4
TDS: 180 to 250
Temp: 72 to 75

We feed them a mix of live baby brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.

Great condition

In the past when I have received Rummynose Tetras from other aquatics companies they have been weak and stressed, never recovered. The Rummynose Tetras from Shrimpy were active and healthy. After acclimation they have thrived. Great fish. Well done Shrimpy.

Good looking, full size, healthy fish!

I left and in depth review on the celestial danios that came in with these babies and left a 2star base on those and the emeralds. The Rummynose are the exception to the rest of the order. I don't think I will be ordering fish Shrimpy again. I may try a shrimp order since that is their specialty and I also have a shrimp specific tank.
