Description
These Red Racer Nerite Snails are not only beautiful, but they are great algae eaters. They eat algae on aquarium walls, plants and substrates. These snails are also peaceful creatures and will not bother other tank inhabitants. We sell our snails at around 1/2 inch in diameter but they can grow up to 1 inch in diameter.
Red Racer Nerite Snails are native to the Philippines and are relatively rare to the hobby here in the states. They are truly gorgeous with their unique patterns. We don't usually carry them so get them while they are still in stock! :)
Nerite snails will not breed in your tank unlike other snails as brackish water is required for their eggs to hatch. Hence, they will not take over an aquarium, unlike other pest snails.
We feed them a combination of our own foods Shrimpy Party, protein party, blanched vegetables (Spinach and Zucchini), and Mulberry leaves.
B-grade Snails are snails that have more chips on their shells and/or have more subtle patterns on their shells. They are otherwise healthy snails that can make a great tank cleaning crew!

Snails much smaller than expected but that is probably a misreading on my part. They we shipped in a small plastic dish with a wet paper towel substance. That surprised me and it they had been delayed i the heat I am sure they would not have made it.

I ordered three, and they all arrived promptly and safely. One of them sadly did not make it and passed within a few days, but shrimpy’s support got to me quick and I was offered a refund as they were out of stock and a replacement couldn’t be sent. The other two are so far doing great, so I think the one may have just been unlucky. They really are just as stunning in real life as they are in the photos, these things look incredible against green plants!
These red racer snails are very colorful and active! They came healthy and are going strong. They’re a great little addition to my ADF tank and help me keep it clean!
These red racers are absolutely stunning! Beautiful colors when submerged, and arrived Friday upon shipment Wednesday. They are eagerly eating away and seem very healthy. A few nicks on some of the shells, but I think it gives them character :) very pleased with this purchase, the cost of fast shipping is more than fair as well.

First time customer. Ordered the 3 snail pack of Red Racer Nerite Snails. I am quite impressed with Shrimpy Business especially considering they were shipped across almost the entire continental US during winter to NC. Snails were carefully packed and arrived promptly. Was expecting them to not move for days based on the FAQ but instead was pleasantly surprised to see all of them healthy and exploring within the first 30 minutes. Happy that each snail has a distinct pattern and coloring. Here they are all climbing up the side glass of the aquarium this evening. 10/10 will order from this company again.
2 out of 3 of these guys showed up healthy and began moving around the tank quickly! After monitoring the other one for about a week, I picked up the shell to find that it had died. Super happy with the health and quality of the other 2!

I was absolutely amazed by the fast shipping at a reasonable price. It only took 2 days for my snails to arrive in Massachusetts. My snails are absolutely beautiful with nearly perfect shells. He’s a tiny little snail! I actually like how tiny he is because he’s so cute, but it’s too expensive for what you get. Other than that, he’s actually very active and is doing well
Thank you for your review! So glad you're happy with the snail and it made it to you healthy. We sell these snails at around 1/2' in diameter as explained in the listing description. This means that these snails at this size are relatively young and can live longer compared to larger, older snails. These beautiful snails can only be found in a remote region in the Philippines, and nowhere else. The high logistic cost and the fact that they can only be found in one region in the entire world are the main reasons why these beautiful Nerites are more expensive compared to other Nerites. Most of the other variety of Nerite Snails can be found in a few countries in South East Asia which makes them significantly easier to source for.
I ordered 3 of these little snail babies and couldn't be more pleased! They came well packaged in their wet paper towels, and they even chose ones that didn't look alike so I can tell them apart. They were delivered a day early and in minutes of being put in my tank they were cruising around, one even went from one end to the other in about a minute to hang out alone on a rock in the corner! They are so perfect, no shell damage at all!
My 3 red racer snails arrived in perfect condition. They are really beautiful. They’ve been slowly cruising around my tank eating up the algae. It’s so fun to look for them each morning and see how they’re doing. I couldn’t be happier :)
