Leopard Danios, Danio frankei, are one of the more popular fish in the hobby today. They stand out in any planted aquarium with their active shoaling behavior. They enjoy an aquarium environment filled with plants. They acan grow to a max size of about 2 inches which makes them perfect for a planted nano aquarium.

Like most Danios, we recommend keeping these guys in groups of 5 or more for them to feel safe in a large school. They will look especially stunning in a planted tank.

Leopard Danios are pretty easy to care of as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters. The following are the water parameters we keep them at:

We feed them a mix of live baby brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.
