Description

The Lemon Tetra, (Hyphessobrycon cf. pulchripinnis), is a captivating freshwater fish prized for its vibrant coloration. They have a transulent yellow body, black markings on their fins and red eyes. Juveniles tend to be more dull in color, but they will soon color up as they get older if they have a large enough school and tank setup.

Like most Tetras, we recommend keeping these guys in groups of 3 or more for them to feel safe in a larger school. They will look especially stunning in a planted tank.

Lemon Tetras are pretty easy to care as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters.  The following are our water parameters we keep them at:

TDS: 180 to 250
Temp: 72 to 75

We feed them a mix of live baby brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.

Beautiful fish & helpful staff

I ordered a school of 12 lemon tetras and almost all arrived safely. I did loose a couple in transit which the helpful staff at Shrimpy B. was quick to fix. The current lemon tetras are very healthy and beautiful! They are going through their 3 week waiting process before moving into a heavily planted 125 gallon! So excited! I’ve been so happy with this company lately and so glad I made the switch over to purchasing from Shrimpy. Their fish are healthy and the company and staff are helpful. Great experience

Ordered 8 fish, one was DOA, lost 2 in the next day, but 5 are thriving. Fish were packaged well and all looked healthy, just may have had a tough trip. Would buy again.
