Golden Eye Vampire Crabs

I love my golden eye vampire crabs! I ordered six but one didn’t make it. The other five are healthy and eating well. I reported the one didn’t make it and they offer me a refund or credit. They got back to me very fast. I took the credit because I plan on ordering more crabs. Shrimpy business is a great place to do business with.

I had a colony of Vampire Crabs about a decade ago. They were hard to get back then. I was so happy when Shrimpy Business started offering them. They are so fun to keep. If you already have a terrarium or paludarium set up, Vampire Crabs are a perfect addition. You'll already have just about everything the crabs need (high humidity, water area, live plants). I know hobbyists who keep some of them with their dart frogs - with no issues.

I currently have a 32 gallon tank with some 30 of these Golden Eyes. Another 20 in a smaller tank. All bought from Shrimpy Business! SB gets them to you very quickly, and very well packed. The crabs are individually packed a small plastic box that holds moisture (and a little bit of food). This prevents fighting and reduces the chances of DOA. When I order crabs years ago - they all arrived in one plastic cup, and there was always missing limbs and DOAs. Not with Shrimpy Business.

I am very happy with their service - and the crabs are excellent. I highly recommend them.

First time ordering a pet/animal online, and I think it went well. The package even came a day earlier than expected. The crab seems to be in good shape.

One thing I noticed though, looking at other websites selling crabs, is that their golden eye vampire crab seemed to look different. I wonder, is this crab that I got not a rainbow “red-legged” vampire crab? It seems to look like one.

Also, I hope in the future I’d be able to buy sexed vampire crabs. I got a male, so I plan on getting 2-3 females for the tank I am building. Let me know if you can help me on that. Thanks!

Theses little crabs are just adorable. That being said make sure you are prepared never to see them.well you might once in a while. It can be very disappointing. Also they are very delicate, my little female only lived 3 days she was just to little and arrived very cold. They dig down in there substrate and it's hard to fine them. I am still learning about them. They like moss on top of the substrate ND places to hide.
