Description
Cholla wood is the skeleton of a Cholla Cactus, it is harvested after the Cactus dies. Each piece is unique and it's distinctive holes provide great hiding spots for shrimp and provide a media for biofilm to grow on. It also releases tanins into the water which is beneficial to all shrimp types. The wood will disintegrate over many months depending on the size and thickness of the wood. We offer Cholla pieces that are 4 inches or 6 inches in length.
We recommend boiling all botanicals before use in your aquarium. This is good practice when adding anything new to your aquarium, the wood will also sink a lot quicker after it is boiled.

My snails love this log. My Betta eats a lot of the snail babies so this gives them a hiding place.

Looks very nice in tank. Just like picture perfect size. Shrimp really like it...we boiled it and followed directions, but it still wanted to float so had to anchor down with a rock. Shrimp like to hide in it so you don’t see them as easily at times. Very happy with how it adds natural look to tank....
Perfect for our tank. Took a while for the wood to get waterlogged. But all the new babies love hiding in it.

My shrimp absolutely love the Cholla wood. Boiled it for about 30 mins and let it cool before putting in the tank. So far so good!
