Cherry Shrimp for Sale

Searching for Cherry Shrimp for sale? These beautiful, deep red-colored shrimp will stand out and look great in your tank. They’re known for their lovely appearance as well as their peaceful behavior.

Cherry Shrimp are graded based on their color density, and the females tend to be larger and more colorful. The scale, ranging from lowest to highest grade, goes as follows:

  • Cherry Shrimp
  • Sakura Cherry Shrimp
  • Fire Red Shrimp
  • Painted Fire Red Shrimp

The Cherry Shrimp is a dwarf freshwater shrimp native to Taiwan. Due to their original habitat, these shrimp thrive in planted tanks with a variety of shelter options and hiding spots. Our Aquarium Plant Variety Packs can help you create the ideal environment for your shrimp.

Cherry Shrimp require very little feeding as long as your tank contains enough algae, biofilm, or decaying plant matter. We recommend feeding every other day with high-quality shrimp food.

Great for planted and community tanks, you can place your peaceful and friendly Cherry Shrimp with mates like Neon Tetras, Kuhli Loaches, Corydoras, and other dwarf shrimp.

Fire Red Cherry Shrimp Breeder Pack

We created the breeder packs to ensure that hobbyists will have the ideal ratio to start a breeding colony. The Breeder pack will consist of 7 female and 3 male shrimp. For a total of 10 shrimp. (Females will be Fire Red Grade or higher and the males will be Sakura grade.)

While the 5 packs and 10 packs are random scoops from our tanks and will not guarantee a specific male to female ratio.

Super vibrant and active

I ordered the breeder pack and they all arrived alive and super healthy! Shrimpy Business even threw in two extras. I’m very satisfied with how vibrant their color is and they’ve adjusted well to the tank and are relatively active! Definitely recommend.

I’m writing this a couple weeks after my purchase of a breeder group of ten high grade cherries. Although I don’t know why there is a distinct group called “breeders”, I am ecstatic to say all are thriving. No deaths.

So the good stuff: They are beautiful! They arrived on the smaller size and I cannot wait until they grow a bit, and hopefully breed (got the breeder group for that reason).

They coexist with a 100+ guppy population in an indoor pond I made from a 15 gallon decorative plastic planter. Fully planted, with an extra large sponge filter and side bubbler. I can see them roam the sand bottom (below that is water plant media) and they come to the surface, where there is floating anacharis.

If I had one criticism, please tell me what differed from a ten pack of these shrimp and the breeder group, which I believe cost more. Other than that-very happy.

Last thought-I followed the suggestion to make sure to introduce tiny amounts of the pond water into the water they arrived in over several hours. That likely made a huge difference. Read that part!

I still give Shrimpy Business five stars, but if you are money conscious, definitely ask what the difference is between a breeder group and the same shrimp type and grade for the same number of shrimp. Pretty sure if you even have three shrimp, they will breed.

The photo I uploaded is of the pond. You won’t see the little red guys unless you look from above. I plan on making a shrimp habitat but for now, this is a pure water environment, right by my home office desk. Love it!

Fantastic! My order arrived yesterday and all the shrimp looked happy and healthy. They acclimated quickly and are happy in their new home. I ordered the breeder pack and it was definitely worth it. Two of my females came berried!! I'm so excited! Very satisfied with my order!

Not exactly happy with the “quality” of the shrimp I received. A majority of them came more brown than red. A couple of them were very beautiful red or a lovely shade of dark red on arrival. While a few of the more brownish ones regained some of the colors after about a week, some of them stayed primarily brown as if they were a couple generations down from mixed color breeding. They had sent a couple extra shrimp, which was nice. Only had one causality on arrival and two not make it over the next few days. Overall they are very healthy shrimp thus far. I had anticipated buying this pack as a starter base to a new breeding colony, but ended up putting about 1/4th of them in a cull tank. After emailing them about it, they tried to gaslight saying “they are red” and “they will all regain their color.” They did not. Maybe others got lucky with their purchases, but i feel as though “high quality” should be removed from their listing title and replaced with “mediocre,” as I don’t think they’re high quality breeding stock. I feel as though I would have had better luck to “cherry” pick from lfs to find higher quality and more vibrant colored shrimp.

The delivery was delyed because of winter conditions but i apreciated that, suposedly to ensure the 10 shrimp would arrive alive. One of the felames arrived dead, but that's not the reason of my low ranking. Look at the pictures, this are supposed to be fire red grade A. They look like mid grade sakuras, except maybe for 2 of the females. Amateur growers have better specimens to offer, this is pretty dissapointing comming from a reputable stablished bussiness. I also got a breeding pack of blue dreams, those where better. I give 3 stars because the shipping is well planed and well secured, but Im bummed about the quality of the shrimp I got and the DOA female on a breeding pack.

A little over a month ago I ordered a cherry red shrimp breeder pack. All shrimp arrived alive and moving. Took my time with the drip acclimating. Took 3 hours. Did my best to maintain the temp. One week later only had one casualty. A male. I was happy with that result. Even better yet I noticed today that one of my females must have hatched a batch of new shrimp. Pretty happy about this purchase. Very informative on how to properly transfer new shrimp to my tank. I feel the available care instructions made all the difference. Thanks Shrimpy Busness!! Very satisfied customer.

All shrimpy arrived perfectly healthy, even got a few free babies in there. Not sure if they were scopped in, or hatched during transit though.

After a 2-hour drip acclimation, they made themselves right at home in their new 20g. I've had no losses so far and love watching them walk around doing their shrimpy thing.

This is the second batch of shrimp I've purchased from Shrimpy Business and they continue to be my goto recommendation for online shrimp!

I bought 10 of the high grade shrimp and 2 were dead on arrival. One of the dead ones had a lot more clear transparent on it than I expect for high grade and same with one of the ones that is still alive. I also got 3 of the red whiptail catfish and they’re doing amazing after 48 hours. Packaging was some of the best I’ve seen lately. Everything was safely secured, shrimp had a small screen in the bag, and the box said live animals on it for better handling. Overall a good experience though and I’ll definitely be back in the future.

I ordered the batch of five shrimp and actually received six. After following the instructions on how to adapt the shrimpies, I put them in the tank, expecting to have at least one or two die. To my delight, they survived and are thriving! My tank is sparkly clean!

Once again I am blown away at this company's ability to deliver shrimp in such amazing condition. I ordered 2 breeder packs and not a single DOA! On top of this, there were a couple of extra shrimp has some of the females were pregnant and hatched their clutch mid-shipment. They are already working away the algae in my tank. This is the only company I trust with shrimp!

I purchased the Fire Red Cherry Shrimp Breeder Pack and +5 more High Grade Cherry Shrimp - Fire Red Grade. They have a very nice red color and are active. Followed the acclimation guide and all seems to be doing well, with no sign of stress. There were a couple of berried females in the batch and then noticed about 15 newborn shrimplets (Bonus!) in the container I was acclimating them in. Caught all babies and hope they'll survive. Shipping was lightning fast and Gwen promptly answered all my questions. I'll definitely buy more shrimp in the future once I have another tank ready! Thank you!!

I was skeptical buying the shrimps online, but could not find a local store that had them in stock.
Beyond happy I did this. They came healthy, vibrant and even had a few fry.

My cherries came in super fast (all the way from Washington to MS), and they were obviously raised with great care. The color quality was even better than expected. They are bright, bold, and very funny in that they are not shy! They are always busy and out and about, and they seemed to love their new home in my tank the moment they were out of acclimation. I will definitely be giving Shrimpy Business my shrimpy business again in the future.

All the shrimp came alive, healthy and very active- they’re nearly adult shrimp which is awesome! The pricing for the quality of shrimp you’re getting feels like a steal. After only a few hours they were swimming around, eating, and enjoying the tank. Really impressed with these shrimp and this company. I will definitely be buying more in the future!
