About This Species

To protect our animals and to ensure they get to our customers healthy, we will only ship orders withΒ Nano Fish via UPS Next Day Air.

Cardinal Tetras have been in a hobby for a while but they are still one of the more popular nano fish due to their unique coloration and schooling behavior. They have a neon blue stripe that runs down their body that stands out in any aquarium.Β

Like most Tetras, we recommend keeping these guys in groups of 5 or more for them to feel safe in a large school. They will look especially stunning in a planted tank.

Cardinal TetrasΒ are pretty easy to care as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters.Β  The following are our water parameters we keep them at:

OurΒ Tank Water Parameters

PH: 7.2 to 7.5
GH:Β 7 to 8
KH: 3 to 4
TDS: 180 to 250
Temp: 72 to 75

We feed them a mix of live baby brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.Β

Cardinal Tetras look great

Cardinal Tetras look great and they immediately hooked-up (pun intended) with my other cardinals and neon's. I only gave 4 stars because 1 was DOA.

Gorgeous, healthy fish!

The fish are gorgeous, look and act healthy, and are adjusting nicely to their environment. They arrived overnight, as predicted by the tracking system, even though I live in a very remote place where shipping often gets delayed. I am very pleased and I will definitely be buying from Shrimpy Business again in the future.

It says I have 4 but only have two of these,

These are pretty little fish that I'd like to have more of one day. The two I can spot in my aquarium spend a lot of time just chasing each other around!

I ordered 12 of these cardinal tetras for my 40-gallon. One was DOA and two others were missing their tail fins and died by the next morning. The nine that are left are lively and healthy with great colors. They were well packaged, but they were delayed in transit and arrived one day late. I am not sure if the deaths of the three were due to the shipping delay.
