These Blueberry Snails (Viviparus sp.) were discovered in Papua New Guinea and are a relatively new species to the hobby. Unlike Nerite snails that are egg layers and require brackish water for their eggs to hatch, these unique snails are freshwater livebearers. The gestational period for these snails is about 2 to 3 weeks and females will give birth to one baby snail at a time.Â
We feed them a combination of our own foods Shrimpy Party, protein party, blanched vegetables (Spinach and Zucchini) and Mulberry leaves.Â
Recommended Tank Parameters:

I bought the 3 pack on sale for less than $30!! That's usually close to the cost of just 2 elsewhere! AAAaand one had a baby right in the shipping container right after I took the wet paper towel out and added aquarium water! And I'm up to 5 now! What a buy!
My new snail arrived alive and seems happy. It only took a few minutes for it to perk up and start climbing the walls and having a snack!
Very cool looking and definitely a great addition to our tank! 😃 Thanks shrimpy biz!
They are both adorable and mesmerizing. I love looking at them under the plant lights as their amazing colors just pop. All very healthy and arrived in a timely manner did not seem stressed at all.
Didn't look anything like picture.
