Description

To protect our animals and to ensure they get to our customers healthy, we will only ship orders with Nano Fish via UPS Next Day Air.

If you are looking for a lively nano fish with personality and dazzling colors, look no further than the Emerald Dwarf Rasboras (Celestichthys erythromicron). While the fish we offer are tank-bred, they originate from Lake Inle in Burma.

These colorful fish have shining, turquoise-green striations that run along the sides of their bodies. These stripes are particularly eye-catching under bright lighting conditions. They don’t grow larger than 1-1.5”, with males being slightly smaller than their female counterparts. Males have red & orange fins, while females tend to have clear, translucent fins.

In terms of care, Emerald Dwarf Rasboras are relatively easy to care for; they can thrive so long as water parameters are stable and water quality is high. In terms of numbers, as shoaling fish, they do prefer being kept in small groups. One will observe dancing and sparring behavior amongst males, so the more individuals kept in a tank, the less chances of fighting will occur. Similar to other danios, they are very peaceful and can be kept with the vast majority of other peaceful nano fish and invertebrates. They will appreciate having plant cover, in addition to wood and rocks, to offer solace if need be.

Spawning Emerald Dwarf Rasboras requires high-quality water and stable parameters. As egg layers, females distribute eggs amongst vegetation, which are subsequently spawned by males. Offering hiding places with plants and other aquarium hardscaping will ensure an increased likelihood of fry survival.

Emerald Dwarf Rasboras can be fed prepared fish foods such as fish flakes or pellets/tablets, but they have been known to show a preference towards small live foods and frozen foods such as baby brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, and tubifex worms.

Dwarf Emerald Rasbora are pretty easy to care for as long as they are introduced to a mature, cycled tank. They can acclimate to a wide range of parameters. The following are the water parameters we keep at:

Our Tank Water Parameters

PH: 7.2 to 7.5
GH: 7 to 8
KH: 3 to 4
TDS: 180 to 250
Temp: 72 to 75

We feed them a mix of frozen brine shrimp, frozen daphnia and high-quality flake food.

I placed an order for nano fish and they all arrived alive and healthy. All are doing great in the tank and I haven’t lost any. Already placed a second fish order! Can’t wait until they arrive. Gwen was awesome and very responsive working through some shipping issues with the shipper, (no fault of Shrimpy Business) and provided superb customer service. Love this company!

I have purchased from ShrimpyBusiness several times and when I've purchased shrimp even when USPS delays shipping they get here alive and well. My last shrimp order was the best, they were very active and happy with some new borns along with them. I honestly recommend that you buy from Shrimpy Business.

Beautiful little fish

Beautiful little fish. Likes to stay near the bottom and hides in the plants. When they venture out, they are a joy to see

They're adorable

They're adorable, and a lot smaller than I thought they'd be. Can't wait for them to have some sort of color to them. Being clear babies makes it really hard for me to find them in all the live plants. I panic daily until I see them finally swim by every night at feeding time

Cute little guys

Most were very small upon arrival. But great color and all arrived alive. I did get a few that looked chocolate and blue dream. But I don’t mind.

Very pretty fish

Very pretty - they were babies when they arrived so they didn't have a lot of color but they have colored up nicely and are beautiful. They are a bit shy.

Juvenile emeralds

They came rather pale, but I believe they're just juveniles and that's why. It's been about a month and they're starting to display stripes! I'm so excited!

These fish are SO CUTE

These fish are SO CUTE.More so than others ive had- they need at least to school and feel social, but their vibrancy and cute personalities are worth everything. I love them!!

Dropped one star because one died in transit. As a return customer, I think that could be due to their stress levels during Transit. I wonder if they should be sold in sets of six minimum or something of that nature to try to reduce their stress. Poor babies.

Fish arrived healthy, no DOA, although much smaller than expected, too young to even tell what kind they were. Good thing I had fry food on hand, as they were too small to handle the micropellets I also have. It was fine in my case because they went into a new tank setup which only has other small nano fish in it, so no danger to them anyway. A little over a week later now they are just now getting old enough to show their stripes and color, and starting to be able to handle the micropellets. All still healthy and active, eatng very well.
Overall I'm happy with them and will order again.
